Noob Edition 5.0

Reviewed by on

Started playing in 4th edition (insert rolling eyes here); stepped up to 5th edition and what a change. It just felt easier for a PC and DM.

Highly recommend this product as a starting point and it includes all the basics needed. Play the adventure and get a feel for it...and then expand your library with the Player's Handbook.

Great for anybody starting out DnD

This is such a great way to learn to play DnD and probably at the best price (at least compared to other retailers in SA).

Great start

Delivery before expected date which works out perfectly because in 2 days i'll be hosting a new session and the expected would have just missed the mark, box seems in good condition and everything was still sealer

Love it, very happy with overall product to get started. They could have maybe included a seperate enlarged print of map/s, otherwise the rest is layed out well.

Delivery was before expected. BUT my box was damaged when I recieved parcel.

Epic Game

Immersive, detailed and at a bargain price. I started playing this game with friends and was amazed at how fun it really is. So many laughs come from it. Best Investment you can ever make in a game. glad I found this on raru because their prices are always better.

Great way to get started

I recently started DMing for some friends and I dont think I would have known where to start without this starter set. Has a lot of good references to get a good understanding of the game or if you want somewhere to start because you arent sure if you would like it or not. My friends and I did part one of the adventure a few weeks ago and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

A good place to get started

Has everything you need to get started. I'd suggest getting everyone who's going to play their own dice too as passing dice around breaks the pacing a bit.

Gather your party

Well presented, with gorgeous art and writing, the Starter Set is the best way to get into the big, BIG, world of Dungeons and Dragons fifth Edition. The Starter Set is a great purchase, with everything you need to take up to five others with you on some epic adventures. It also does a great job of explaining all the relevant rules, and the supplemental material included is of great value.

You're looking at roughly 40 hours of pen-and-paper gaming right here, it comes highly recommended.

The best place to start

This set is perfect for new comers to D&D or players just new to 5e. It has everything you need to get a great understanding of the basic mechanics and rules. As someone who has never played D&D but always wanted to get into it this was perfect.

It comes with a beginner campaign with everything you need to jump into it with your friends. It is really easy to pick up and leaves room for the good times to roll. :)

The box also comes with 1 set of dice and character sheets. As a DM once you worked through this box and ran your 1st campaign(the one included), you will be ready to get the full D&D manuals and jump into this amazing world of Dungeons & Dragons.

5/5 stars as it was everything I wanted in a starter set.

Perfect for the beginner

A great bundle of everything you need to get started. The pre-scripted campaign that it comes with is perfect to introduce new players and DMs. The rulebook is nice and condensed, and only covers the essentials needed to get started. More advanced players can go on to buy the more detailed guides and rulebooks if they wish to.

There is also a nice set of blue polyhedral dice thrown into the box, which is an added bonus.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because my box was badly damaged in shipping.

5th Edition D&D Goes Back to Basics!

Reviewed by on

The 5th Edition of D&D that is available via Raru is without a doubt one of the best versions of the game since 2nd edition in the 80's. It is easy to learn, fast paced and gets the basics right. It is a great way to introduce new players to the joys of pen and paper role playing and a great addition to any RPG fans collection. As an added bonus, Raru is by far the cheapest of the current online retailers in South Africa when it comes to purchasing D&D and role playing games in general.
