Mine took 1d6 water damage.

While the book itself if of the highest quality, the illustrations are beautiful, and the content is essential for any Dungeon Master and fan of roleplaying games, I was devastated to receive mine with such significant moisture damage. Raru, who were totally on the ball with their responses to my support ticket, are looking in to this with their supplier and I'm hoping it will be resolved.

You probably already know what you are getting.

An amazing product, vital for any aspiring Dungeon Master

I'm blown away by the quality of this book, with a glossy hardcover and high quality pages. The colours and illustrations are vivid and creative, and definitely worth the price. Filled with hours of reading to enhance your game, ranging from the basics of actually DMing a game to things like creating custom factions, towns, NPCs, and many more. Filled with many, many tables for quick access, and tons of awesome magical items, this book is a must for any serious Dungeons and Dragons fan!

Essential reading for all game masters

The latest Dungeon Master's Guide goes beyond just the usual "how to run a game" and has large sections on how to create not just adventures but your own world around them - advice which can easily be applied to any role playing game. Mechanically there are loads of options for DMs to add to their D&D campaign, and clear instructions on how to scale encounters well for any party size. The rules encourage flexibility and imagination while also offering plenty of more "official" rule options for those who want to use them.

On top of all this, quality of the printing is excellent and the art is easily worth the price on its own.

Looking Forward to This!

Although not yet released as I write this in August 2014, I can already feel the excitement building for when I do do receive it. I briefly played in the Beta testing environment last year and I can tell you that the expectations are high for this one. Gone are the clunky rules of 4th edition and the new "back to basics" approach should help re establish D&D as a force to be reckoned with in the pen and paper RPG world. Without a doubt a must own, along with the basic set and players handbook, for all fans of the fantasy rpg genre!
