Description

Prince John is coming to Nottingham! Players, in the role of merchants, see this as an opportunity to make quick profits by selling goods in the bustling city during the Prince's visit. However, players must first get their goods through the city gate, which is under the watch of the Sheriff of Nottingham. Should you play it safe with legal goods and make a profit, or risk it all by sneaking in illicit goods? Be mindful, though, as the Sheriff always has his eyes out for liars and tricksters and if he catches one, he very well may confiscate those goods for himself! In Sheriff of Nottingham, players will not only be able to experience Nottingham as a merchant of the city, but each turn one player will step into the shoes of the Sheriff himself.Players declare goods they wish to bring into the city, goods that are secretly stored in their burlap sack. The Sheriff must then determine who gets into the city with their goods, who gets inspected, and who may have their goods confiscated!

Do you have what it takes to be seen as an honest merchant? Will you make a deal with the Sheriff to let you in? Or will you persuade the Sheriff to target another player while you quietly slip by the gate? Declare your goods, negotiate deals, and be on the lookout for the Sheriff of Nottingham! Sheriff of Nottingham is the first game in the Dice Tower Essentials Line from Arcane Wonders.

Fake it till you make it

This game is hilariously fun to play with friends. A real Push your luck game to see who cant deceive their opponents the best. Definitely worth it just for the laughs that you will get in a single play-through. I recommend trying to Role Play characters as well for added hilarity.

Hilarious family fun - a classic bluffing game!

This is one of the best party games I own. Most enjoyable when you play with the maximum supported number of players. The game is set in the town of Nottingham which is expecting a visit from the Prince. The players are each assigned the role of a local trader whilst one player becomes the Sheriff (this role is temporary and rotates around the table). The traders wish to make the biggest profit possible off the Prince's visit so they must all import as many goods to re-sell as possible. But importing goods requires getting those goods past the crafty Sheriff whose job it is to identify traders who are trying to import high value but illegal 'contraband' items. The game is a continuous battle of wits and bluffing as each player constantly seeks to convince the Sheriff that there is nothing untoward about the shipment that player wishes to bring in on that turn.

The game is made even more hilarious if the players are willing to engage in a little role-playing. The more you can invest yourself in the role of the Sheriff or the trader, the funnier the experience for everyone.

I HIGHLY recommend that you download and install the free Sheriff of Nottingham smartphone app which includes a brilliant round timer (complete with marketplace audio ambience!) and includes an extremely nifty score calculator for the end of the game.

Suitable for most ages but best enjoyed with adults. Each game is limited in duration and is over within about 30 minutes.
