Beings of ancient evil, known as Old Ones, are threatening to break out of their cosmic prison and awake into the world. Everything you know and love could be destroyed by chaos and madness. Can you and your fellow investigators manage to find and seal every portal in time? Hurry before you lose yourself to insanity.

In Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu, you'll experience the classic Pandemic gameplay with an horrific twist that'll have you face twelve Old Ones, each threatening the world with their unique powers. As players take on the roles of investigators attempting to seal a series of portals before monsters of unspeakable horror pour into our world there is, of course, a high risk of the investigators losing their own minds.

Instead of curing diseases like in the original Pandemic, players seal portals and shut down cults in the classic New England fictional towns of Arkham, Dunwich, Innsmouth, and Kingsport. Can you and your fellow investigators manage to find and seal every portal in time? Hurry before you lose yourself to insanity and the evil that lurks beneath your feet...

Bettern than the original Pandemic!

Reviewed by on

Do not think that if you have the original Pandemic you don't need the Cthulhu version. In fact, sell your original (or any of the other versions you might have) and get Cthulhu!!! The gameplay is familiar to other pandemic games but different enough to create a whole new (and dare I say better) game. Instead of curing diseases and preventing outbreaks your team of investigators will desperately battle evil cultists and deadly Shoggoths all whilst rushing to close portals in an attempt to prevent terrible Cthulhu himself from appearing and automatically triggering a game over. Pandemic Cthulhu is soloable and the difficulty can be scaled, although the standard mode is pretty darn hard as it is. The gameboard itself is a work of art and the different investigator minis are sturdy and well detailed. All cultists have the same durable sculpts and the stunning art on the cards really captures the feel and theme of the game. A great cooperative game for both hardened and casual gamers. Play cooperatively with friends and family or have a solo go at Cthulhu. Either way, this game is sure to provide hours of challenging fun and the replayability is endless. A definite must have for any coledtion!
