Friday 20 October, “Harry Potter: A History of Magic”, will open at the institution in London’s Kings Cross promising “previously unseen material from the Bloomsbury archive and J K Rowling", from a collaboration between the publisher and the library’s curators. The exhibition has sold a record-breaking 30 000 advance tickets! Please see below for the article in The Bookseller yesterday morning.

To tie-in with this exhibition two books are being published by Bloomsbury and Pottermore on the day of its opening. Harry Potter: A History of Magic, a hardback with full-colour illustrations, will be the official book of the exhibition, while the paperback Harry Potter: A Journey Through a History of Magic will be more accessible and “aimed at a family audience”.
