I had the PlayStation Gold Wireless 7.1 headset which were (I thought) were great. Eventually though, the leatherette ear cups started flaking and I felt the headset had become uncomfortable to wear. So I started looking for a suitable replacement. I scoured the internet for headset reviews, watched hours of "Best Headset" YouTube videos and eventually decided on either the HyperX Cloud II or the HyperX Cloud Alpha.

I settled on the Cloud II's as the 7.1 surround USB dongle now supported the PS4, and I wanted to stick with surround sound as per my Golds. To be honest though, the 7.1 is so-so. However the sound stage the Cloud II's have is so good that you won't even miss the surround sound.

The sound quality is excellent. These are rebranded Takstar Pro 80's which are based off the Beyerdynamic DT770. HyperX bought already great headphones and converted it into a stellar headset. The grip is comfortable but not tight, with adjustable headband height. And the whole headset is really, really light and comfortable. I can sit for 3/4 hours and still not feel any discomfort.

I was so impressed with these I bought another pair to use at work for listening to music :)

Greatest headset to grace my bek and kop.

Sound is utterly crisp and brilliant. Of course always torn as to whether have 7.1 or not, as you just have to figure out preference. Mic is incredible loud and clear, it's like I'm in my friends heads.

Love how you can detach the usb and mic and turn it into a normal pair of headphones. It's sturdy, bloody lightweight and lives up to it's name when it sits on your pip. You forget it's even on.

Silliest complaint I would have is it's incredible sound isolation, I can barely even hear myself speak. Which is amazing, but we live in South Africa ekse. Could have a skollie coming in through the window and I will never notice.

Of course my biggest complaints for headsets usually come with time, so we will see how it fares over the years. I will come back if anything bad occurs.

10/10 would have sexy time with them again.

Superb!

Best headset I have ever owned. Sound is impressive to say the least. Noise cancellation is very good. Sound isolation with the leather cups are brilliant. But above all else, this is the MOST comfortable headset I have ever worn, compared to my previously owned razer kraken, I can barely tell when I am wearing them. Highly recommend.

On a final note, the 7.1 is also good, but not as immersive as I had hoped.

Last headset you'll ever need

Sounds great, super light but still grips well on your head, mic is perfect for teamspeak or in-game voice chat, great spacial awareness (not just a 7.1 badge, actually works)
