Does the job
Reviewed by DafT on
It has a great sensor in the 3988, which is also used in the DeathAdder Chroma, and has been proven to even be better than the PMW 3310 sensor in cases. So sensor-wise it's a great performer. It also resembles the Microsoft IME 3.0 in shape, which is great for older gamers who used to use that same mouse.
However, starting with the negatives, the shape isn't great, as it tapers far too much on the thumb side, making it hard to keep the thumb flush with the side of the mouse. Secondly the mouse feels somewhat cheaply built, though this is to be expected I guess, considering the low price. Thirdly the software is pretty scary, in that it's rather ugly, and difficult to navigate, and the language used in the software is very poor and seems to be written by the developers themselves, without a translator on hand, so it's very confusingly worded, and there are still bits of non-English here and there.
I also saw mention online of some sensor issues that may occur at 1000hz , and having this doubt relating to the performance of the mouse made me want to stick with older, more consistent performers that I have.
If you're a gamer and want something that performs well sensor-wise within this price bracket, then I'd say go for it, but don't expect it to rival the build quality or performance of the higher priced mice of Logitech's or Zowie's.
