Model Kit Obsession of the Week - Tamiya Subaru Impreza WRC (1/24)25 Jun 2018
Subaru introduced 4WD sedan Legacy into the 3rd Safari Rally as WRC in 1990. Then Subaru sent new compact machine, Impreza instead of Legacy into 1000 Lakes Rally from 1993. The machine was modified many times as a World rally car because it had a wide range of modifying regulation compared with group A.
Subaru became one of the top contenders in no time. This Impreza was equipped with the blister fenders which were extended to 177mm, the front spoiler for cooling the radiator and the rear wing making the downforce. Since 1998, the engine was modified again such as the crankshaft and the intake manifold. Its front grille was modified wider to take more air, and the body strength became more sturdy due to the addition of a roll bar on B-pillar.
