Description

Director Mark Wexler embarks on a worldwide trek to investigate just what it means to grow old and what it could mean to really live forever. But whose advice should he take? Does a chain-smoking, beer-drinking centenarian marathoner have all the answers? What about an elder porn star? Wexler contrasts these unusual characters with the insights of health, fitness and life-extension experts in his engaging new documentary, which challenges our notions of youth and aging with comic poignancy. Begun as a study in life-extension, HOW TO LIVE FOREVER evolves into a thought-provoking examination of what truly gives life meaning.

Filmmaker Mark S. Wexler explores the mystery of aging, and investigates the prospects of achieving immortality through conversations with health experts, famous authors, and average people who have inexplicably survived to a ripe old age. 3 stars out of 4 -- "[A] documentary by Mark Wexler about scientific, nutritional, lifestyle and philosophical approaches to a long life."
Roger Ebert (15 Jun 2011, )
Los Angeles Times
"The cheeky title HOW TO LIVE FOREVER belongs to a wry, hopeful yet enigma-appreciating documentary about the perils and possibilities that come with growing old."
Robert Abele (20 May 2011, )
New York Times
"Mr. Wexler's film about aging and what it means to grow old is remarkably spry and lighthearted. Despite its titles, there are no prescriptions, just explorations."
Rachel Saltz (13 May 2011, )
