Synopsis
Anton Corbijn (CONTROL) helms this intimate behind-the-scenes look at the photoshoot and friendship between rising star James Dean (Dane DeHaan) and photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson), which yielded the iconic images that appeared in LIFE magazine in 1955. When Stock meets Dean he knows there is something special about the shy young man and convinces his editor to allow him to shoot him for a spread that will coincide with the release of Dean's EAST OF EDEN. The images of the 24 year-old were some of his last, as Dean died tragically a few months later. Cast includes Joel Edgerton, Alessandra Mastronardi, Stella Schnabel and Ben Kingsley.

"[C]inematographer Charlotte Bruus Christensen makes masterful use of muted light and deep shadow, burning in Corbijn’s images of a rumpled actor trying to shrink away from his stalker’s remorseless lens."
Noel Murray (3 Dec 2015, )
Chicago Sun-Times
3 stars out of 4 -- "Smart move by Pattinson. It’s further evidence he’s a legitimate actor with a bright future, and the willingness to sublimate ego in favor of craft."
Richard Roeper (3 Dec 2015, )
Empire
3 stars out of 5 -- "[It's] diverting as a portrait of the nascent celebrity industry, with fine performances from Dane DeHaan and Robert Pattinson."
Nev Pierce (18 Sep 2015, )
RogerEbert.com
3 stars out of 4 -- "Corbijn, as has been his custom in directing features, goes for mood and feel rather than narrative momentum..."
Glenn Kenny (4 Dec 2015, )
