"[I]t’s at once an enormously sophisticated visual achievement—just look at the way water ripples, the way light bounces -- and maybe the simplest story the Bay Area animation studio has ever told." -- Grade: B

"Director Peter Sohn and the usual army of greatly gifted animation pros deliver some stunning visuals..."

"THE GOOD DINOSAUR is antic and unexpected...rife with subversive elements, wacky critters and some of the most beautiful landscapes ever seen in a computer animated film."
Kenneth Turan (25 Nov 2015, )

"[C]harmingly different....THE GOOD DINOSAUR has a few things on its mind, but its tone is overwhelmingly playful..."

"Visually, THE GOOD DINOSAUR is a stunner throughout, with one breathtaking composition after another that combines gorgeously rendered photorealistic backgrounds with the more overtly cartoony characters in an unexpectedly lovely manner."
Peter Sobczynski (24 Nov 2015, )

4 stars out of 5 -- "THE GOOD DINOSAUR -- as the title hints -- feels at heart like a child’s picture book, from the bright, colourful characters, to the simple linear plot....This a rich and rewarding family film."
