Movie Critics
A.V. Club
"Miller keeps everything physical, putting flesh-and-blood humans perilously close to spinning tires and billowing flames....It's been staged not just with diabolical mischief, but also total clarity."
A.A. Dowd (13 May 2015, )
Chicago Sun-Times
"[A] stunningly effective post-apocalyptic fable, a chilling and yet exhilarating daytime nightmare pitting blindly loyal and bloodthirsty half-humans against implausibly beautiful people clinging to their sense of morality..."
Richard Roeper (14 May 2015, )
Empire
5 stars out of 5 -- "[A] triumph of barking-mad imagination, jaw-dropping action, crackpot humour, and acting in the face of a hurricane."
Ian Nathan (8 May 2015, )
Entertainment Weekly
"FURY ROAD not only captures the same Molotov-cocktail craziness of Miller’s masterpiece, 1981’s THE ROAD WARRIOR -- it’s also a surprisingly hypercaffeinated film for a director in his fifth decade behind the camera."
Chris Nashawaty (11 May 2015, )
Hollywood Reporter
"It's got a vision, gob-smacking action, amazing faces and as much creative detail as you would see in an afternoon at the Louvre."
Todd McCarthy (11 Dec 2015, )
Los Angeles Times
"MAD MAX: FURY ROAD will leave you speechless....[A] barn-burner of a post-apocalyptic extravaganza in which sizzling, unsettling images are the order of the day."
Kenneth Turan (14 May 2015, )
New York Times
"It’s all great fun, and quite rousing as well -- a large-scale genre movie that is at once unpretentious and unafraid to bring home a message..."
A. O. Scott (14 May 2015, )
RogerEbert.com
4 stars out of 4 -- "From its very first scenes, FURY ROAD vibrates with the energy of a veteran filmmaker working at the top of his game..."
Brian Tallerico (15 May 2015, )
Rolling Stone
3.5 stars out of 4 -- "[A]n R-rated, rocket-fueled romper-stomper, a nonstop chase epic powered by a reported $150 million budget and Miller's indisputable visionary genius."
Peter Travers (13 May 2015, )
Total Film
5 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he maxed-out madness of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD sets an extraordinarily high bar -- then pole-vaults clean over it and smashes the entire rig to smithereens."
Jamie Graham (15 May 2015, )
USA Today
"[A]n operatic extravaganza of thrilling action and nearly non-stop mayhem..."
Claudia Puig (14 May 2015, )
Wall Street Journal
"FURY ROAD turns epic road rage and long stretches of vehicular megacide into an eye-boggling joy ride."
(17 Dec 2015, )
