Description

Jill Soloway directs this comedy drama starring Kathryn Hahn, Juno Temple and Josh Radnor. Rachel (Hahn) is a stay-at-home mum trapped in a sexless marriage. After seeking advice from therapist Lenore (Jane Lynch) she visits a strip club hoping to pick up some tips on how to spice up her sex life. When an impromptu lapdance leads to Rachel taking pity on stripper McKenna (Temple), she makes it her duty to point her life in a new direction. As Rachel disguises McKenna as her son's new nanny, people start to wonder who this woman really is. Will this arrangement make or break Rachel's marriage?

Synopsis
A dissatisfied wife and mother strives to find greater meaning in her life -- with outrageous results -- in this offbeat, contemporary comedy-drama. Thirtysomething Rachel (Kathryn Hahn) seemingly has everything a young woman could want: a handsome, devoted, successful husband; beautiful children; considerable wealth; and a chic home in L.A.'s exclusive Silver Lake neighborhood. Inside, however, she's drowning in dissatisfaction. In a desperate bid for a sense of purpose, Rachel visits a local strip joint and begins to fixate on the idea of "saving" McKenna (Juno Temple), a stripper at the club whom she promptly hires as a live-in nanny for her children. It's a rash decision, and one that sends not merely ripples but shockwaves throughout the surrounding community, as Rachel tries to draw on the situation to attain a clearer and sharper sense of her own identity. First-timer Jill Soloway directs from her original script.

DVD Faulty

Reviewed by on

Quality disappointment. DVD has faulty sound and image. Problem is if you buy a couple of DVD's you can not view them all to check the condition. By the time you watch them it is too late for return. Lesson, never order more than 2 DVD's (especially local) to allow you enough time to watch and return if faulty. I prefer overseas DVD's because their quality is high and never disappoints.
