Description

Brian Fee directs this Pixar animated comedy adventure sequel featuring the voice talents of Armie Hammer, Owen Wilson and Bonnie Hunt. With a new generation of highly-tuned, ultra-fast racers led by seemingly unbeatable rookie Jackson Storm (Hammer) dominating races, legendary speedster Lightning McQueen (Wilson) suddenly finds himself being muscled out of the sport he loves. After then pushing himself to the limit and crashing out of a meet at the Los Angeles International Speedway, Lightning is forced to step away from competing in order to recover from his injuries. However, determined not to give up on his dreams Lightning seeks help from enthusiastic race technician Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo) in a bid to make it back to the top and defeat his flash new rivals on Piston Cup Racing's biggest stage.

Movie Critics
Boston Globe
"The race sequences are an internal-combustion ballet. And the gradations of light, in night-time scenes especially, have a subtlety that would defy belief..."
Mark Feeney (15 Jun 2017, )
Chicago Sun-Times
"[A] lovely, clever and entertaining generational tale with tons of heart, a simple and effective storyline, wonderful candy-colored visuals and winning voice work from the talented cast of returning regulars and welcome newcomers."
Richard Roeper (15 Jun 2017, )
Los Angeles Times
"CARS 3 is a genial, easy-going throwback. Not just to the previous Pixar films in the series but to the early days of parent company Disney, when Walt walked the earth and sweetly earnest lessons about what’s important in life inspired movies that put smiles on faces all over town."
Kenneth Turan (15 Jun 2017, )
New York Times
"[T]he movie is both breezy fun and a pain-free life lesson delivery vehicle..."
Glenn Kenny (14 Jun 2017, )
RogerEbert.com
"[I]t satisfies in that amiably weird way that only a CARS film can."
Matt Zoller Seitz (16 Jun 2017, )
Rolling Stone
"CARS 3 is easily the best entry of the bunch....There's an emotional resonance to this story about growing old, chasing glory days and the joy of passing the baton that leaves the other two films choking on its digitally rendered dust."
David Fear (14 Jun 2017, )
Washington Post
"The fictional racing series includes appearances, on- and off-track, by such real-life personalities as former drivers Darrell Waltrip, Jeff Gordon and Richard Petty..."
