Description

Jake Gyllenhaal and Tatiana Maslany star in this biographical drama based on the memoir of Jeff Bauman (Gyllenhaal), a survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon bomb attack. After learning that his ex-girlfriend Erin (Maslany) is running the marathon, Jeff promises to come and support her as she crosses the line. However, he arrives at the finish just as the bombs go off, sustaining severe injuries which result in both his legs being amputated above the knees. Jeff is hailed a hero for his role in identifying the bomber and is thrust into the limelight, but his newfound fame soon starts to affect his mental state as he struggles to cope with intense rehab sessions, interviews and the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Synopsis
This docudrama recounts the true story of Jeff Bauman (Jake Gyllenhaal), who lost both of his legs during the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. After providing crucial information on the bombers, Bauman faces a long road to recovery and must turn to his family and girlfriend (Tatiana Maslany) for support. Directed by David Gordon Green.
