"In spirit, if not in style, LET THE SUNSHINE IN is basically an offbeat romantic comedy. That’s a first for Denis..."
A.A. Dowd (27 Apr 2018, )
Empire
4 stars out of 5 -- "LET THE SUNSHINE IN is a rare thing these days: a sexy, sophisticated, grown-up treat."
Ian Freer (17 Apr 2018, )
Hollywood Reporter
"[The film] can be funny, rather light on its feet, yet incredibly perceptive about the very complicated lives and relationships we lead, especially when they involve members of the opposite sex."
Jordan Mintzer (18 May 2018, )
New York Times
"Ms. Binoche, effortlessly charismatic and ruthlessly unvain, has no investment in the character’s likability....LET THE SUNSHINE IN commits itself to taking Isabelle on her own terms."
A. O. Scott (25 Apr 2018, )
RogerEbert.com
4 stars out of 4 -- "The film’s confidence comes in part from the acceptance of the things that can’t be known."
Glenn Kenny (27 Apr 2018, )
The Atlantic
"[A] wonderful -- sometimes joyous, and other times wrenching -- comedy..."
David Sims (29 Apr 2018, )
Variety
"Perfectly small rather than slight, and radiantly carried by Juliette Binoche -- in a light-touch tour de force to be filed alongside her work in Kiarostami’s CERTIFIED COPY -- this turns out to be a subtler departure than it outwardly appears for Denis..."
Guy Lodge (18 May 2018, )
Washington Post
"It’s Binoche, here delivering one of her finest and most subtly calibrated performances, who imbues Isabelle with the heart and earthy eroticism that makes her far more appealing, even heroic, than the pathetic figure she might have been."
(9 May 2018, )
