- "A QUIET PLACE is brisk, but it’s also patient; this is one of those monster movies that builds tension from the absence of the monster, at least until the full-bore, unbroken set-piece of the second half..." -- Grade: B+— A.A. Dowd (3 Apr 2018, )
- Empire
- 4 stars out of 5 -- "Krasinski has a longer CV as an actor than as director...but establishes himself here as a sure hand with the mechanics of nerve-shredding."— Kim Newman (17 Mar 2018, )
- Hollywood Reporter
- "A terrifying thriller with a surprisingly warm heart, John Krasinski's A QUIET PLACE is a monster-movie allegory for parenting in a world gone very, very wrong."— John DeFore (9 Mar 2018, )
- Los Angeles Times
- "[A] sensationally gripping and emotional new alien-invasion thriller from the actor and writer-director John Krasinski."— Justin Chang (5 Apr 2018, )
- New York Times
- "A QUIET PLACE is an old-fashioned creature feature with a single, simple hook: The creatures are blind, hungry and navigate by sound....Mr. Krasinski directs with skill and restraint."— Jeannette Catsoulis (4 Apr 2018, )
- RogerEbert.com
- 3.5 stars out of 4 -- "John Krasinski’s A QUIET PLACE is a nerve-shredder. It’s a movie designed to make you an active participant in a game of tension, not just a passive observer in an unfolding horror."— Brian Tallerico (10 Mar 2018, )
- Rolling Stone
- 3.5 stars out of 4 -- "[A] dazzling, devilishly clever horror film that goes beyond scares to the intangibles that define us."— Peter Travers (3 Apr 2018, )

- The Guardian
- 5 stars out of 5 -- "It is a cracking back-to-basics thriller that does not depend too much on what these creatures look like. Krasinski rather cleverly addresses this issue by keeping them glimpsed only subliminally at first..."— Peter Bradshaw (5 Apr 2018, )

- Washington Post
- "A creeping, increasingly queasy sense of dread pervades A QUIET PLACE, John Krasinski’s nervy thriller that marks a notable addition to the recent spate of smart, timely genre pictures."— (5 Apr 2018, )

popBoxZA Review: A Quiet Place
Natalie L on
Reviewed byThe acting in A Quiet Place is virtually flawless and Emily Blunt is in a class of her own. In a film completely dependent on facial communication Blunt delivers a virtuosic performance of silent emotion.
A Quiet Place is one of the most imaginative and cleverly crafted films that have been created in some time, especially in the genre of horror. It is a magnificent accomplishment of skillful storytelling and is profoundly effective in its understated terror. Though it may ostensibly be about man-eating monsters at its core it is about family. A terrifying thrill, this film exceeds all expectations.
