Description
Dominic Cooke directs this British drama adapted from Ian McEwan's novel. Set in the 1960s, the film follows young couple Florence (Saoirse Ronan) and Edward (Billy Howle) as they set off for Chesil Beach in Dorset for their honeymoon. However, things soon become complicated when the pair spend their first night together as husband and wife, with revelations about Florence's past casting doubts over the young lovers' future together. The cast also includes Anne-Marie Duff and Emily Watson.

- Synopsis
- In 1962 England, conservative, demure violinist Florence (Saoirse Ronan) and brash, working class graduate student Edward (Billy Howle) fall in love despite their different backgrounds. They get married, but things fall apart on their honeymoon at Chesil Beach when the newlyweds are unable to enjoy physical intimacy because of their opposing attitudes about sex. The resulting fight changes the course of their relationship. Directed by Dominic Cooke. Adapted by Ian McEwan from his novel of the same name.
