Movie Critics
Chicago Sun-Times
"Lil Rel Howery, Tiffany Haddish, JB Smoove and Nick Kroll are terrific, as we’d expect. It’s more of a surprise that basketballers Irving, Miller, Robinson, Leslie, et al., are also quite good."
Richard Roeper (28 Jun 2018, )
Hollywood Reporter
"Charles Stone III delivers a light comedy that is understandably geared to hoops fanatics, calling in a team of other stars to join Irving under the latex wrinkles."
John DeFore (19 Jun 2018, )
Los Angeles Times
"Highly entertaining and even more endearing, the elderly basketball romp UNCLE DREW is the surprise comedy of the summer."
Katie Walsh (28 Jun 2018, )
New York Times
"Mr. O’Neal, playing a martial-arts instructor harboring an old grudge against the title character, quietly but steadily builds the most complete characterization in the movie."
Glenn Kenny (28 Jun 2018, )
RogerEbert.com
"Considering both its comedic and athletic roster, UNCLE DREW has a cast of all-stars..."
Nick Allen (29 Jun 2018, )
Variety
"[T]his affectionate basketball-themed comedy from sports-savvy director Charles Stone III comes across as an effective feature-length ad for the game itself."
Peter Debruge (19 Jun 2018, )
