Synopsis
Years after the events of THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, former CIA assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) resurfaces just as his former employers are implementing a new program aimed at hunting him down. Now fully recovered from his amnesia, Bourne teams up with Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles) to uncover the truth behind his father's death, while simultaneously exacting revenge and evading the government forces hot on his trail. Paul Greengrass returns to helm this sequel, which co-stars Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, Riz Ahmed, and Vincent Cassel.

Film Comment
"With JASON BOURNE, Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass return to the rare Hollywood franchise that’s equally brainy and brawny....A visceral workout with several clever nods to current events, this entry gives series fans their money’s worth..."
Film Comment Staff (28 Jul 2016, )
Hollywood Reporter
"JASON BOURNE is an engrossing reimmersion in the violent and mysterious world of Matt Damon's shadowy secret op."
Todd McCarthy (26 Jul 2016, )
Los Angeles Times
"Made with a palpable sense of urgency, this tense, propulsive motion picture is a model of what mainstream entertainment can be like when everything goes right."
Kenneth Turan (28 Jul 2016, )
New York Times
"[JASON BOURNE] feels like old times. The band is back together for a reunion tour, and if some of the original members are missing, the new additions have learned the chords and are even permitted to try out a few fresh riffs."
A. O. Scott (27 Jul 2016, )
Rolling Stone
3.5 stars out of 4 -- "Through it all, Damon keeps us glued to the war going on inside Bourne's head. It's a brilliantly implosive performance; he owns the role and the movie."
Peter Travers (29 Jul 2016, )
The Guardian
4 stars out of 5 -- "[A] breathlessly confident thriller with a self-consciously modern edge that casts its antihero adrift in a post-Snowden world of surveillance and social media."
Mark Kermode (31 Jul 2016, )
