"[A]n R-rated female buddy comedy with a solid emotional core....THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME is McKinnon’s best big-screen vehicle since 2016’s GHOSTBUSTERS, fueling her character’s flights of eccentricity with sharp, sometimes screamingly funny one-liners..."
Katie Rife (1 Aug 2018, )
Empire
3 stars out of 5 -- "[O]ne of the great pluses of THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME is that it gives McKinnon a very-nearly-lead role and she does not squander it."
Olly Richards (20 Aug 2018, )
Los Angeles Times
"[A] fast, funny Europe-trotting buddy caper starring Mila Kunis and a superb Kate McKinnon as extremely amateur secret agents..."
Justin Chang (2 Aug 2018, )
Total Film
4 stars out of 5 -- "It’s no secret by this point that McKinnon is a firecracker of a comedian, and her irrepressible off-kilter charisma is by far the standout element here..."
Emma Dibdin (14 Aug 2018, )
Variety
"[I]t's an over-the-top and weirdly combustible entertainment....With her fiercely popping eyes and hungry grin and bone-dry sarcastic delivery, McKinnon is like Bette Davis channeling Fran Lebowitz."
Owen Gleiberman (26 Jul 2018, )
