"Larson and Jackson have terrific buddy-movie chemistry, whether they’re giving each other grief or covering each other’s behinds."
Richard Roeper (5 Mar 2019, )
4 stars out of 5 -- "Larson is both gifted and charismatic..."
Helen O'Hara (5 Mar 2019, )
Hollywood Reporter
"Larson makes Carol/Captain focused, solid, ever-alert to what's going on around her, a quick learner, a determined and unafraid warrior."
Todd McCarthy (5 Mar 2019, )
"It’s fine and often quite funny. It fits securely within the MCU but also functions sufficiently as a stand-alone entity"
Christy Lemire (8 Mar 2019, )
Rolling Stone
4 stars out of 5 -- "A riot-grrrl power pulses through every frame, not to mention humor, heart and the thrill that comes from watching a genuine game-changer."
Peter Travers (5 Mar 2019, )
The Guardian
3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]here are pleasures -- Jackson going to mush over a cute kitty is one; the film’s embrace of its mid-1990s setting is another."
Wendy Ide (10 Mar 2019, )
"In CAPTAIN MARVEL, Brie Larson radiates an ability that too many comic-book heroes never get the chance to show: the superpower of expression."
Owen Glieberman (5 Mar 2019, )

This wasn't a good experience

For all the things this film got wrong, it still had some entertainment value. Unfortunately, if you've seen any other Marvel movie, there is no doubt that this one is the weakest of the lot. From poor writing to uninspired action and countless plot holes, the film was a let down. My biggest issue was character motivations and developments... There were none. It was just a big shiny waste of time. Great special effects don't make a good movie. Also worth noting, it is the last time we will see a Stan Lee cameo... And I loved his cameo in this one. It was the one thing that didn't have me rolling my eyes into the back of my head. As a collector of the marvel films, I'll be buying it for the cameo alone. No other reason to watch it again.
