Movie Critics
A.V. Club
"[The film] begins with a sequence so expertly shot, cut, and orchestrated that you can only submit to the internal, infernal logic of its construction."
A.A. Dowd (20 Mar 2019, )
Chicago Sun-Times
"Certain elements of US carry echoes of the works of Hitchcock and Kubrick, Spielberg and John Carpenter and George Romero, among others -- but the immensely talented Peele also has a voice of his own."
Richard Roeper (20 Mar 2019, )
Empire
4 stars out of 5 -- "US is a thrilling tale of survival horror which has cogent things to say about the American experience, duality, and the apathy of privilege."
Chris Hewitt (19 Mar 2019, )
Hollywood Reporter
"[I]t offers twists and ironies and false endings galore -- along with more laughs than the comedian-turned-auteur dared to include in his debut film....It packs a punch."
John DeFore (8 Mar 2019, )
RogerEbert.com
"Peele’s film, which he directed, wrote and produced, will likely reward audiences on multiple viewings, each visit revealing a new secret, showing you something you missed before in a new light."
Monica Castillo (9 Mar 2019, )
Rolling Stone
4 stars out of 5 -- "It’s scary as hell, and that’s just for starters. But US, the new mesmerizing mindbender from writer-director-producer Jordan Peele, also carries the weight of expectation."
Peter Travers (20 Mar 2019, )
The Guardian
4 stars out of 5 -- "An almost erotic surge of dread powers this brash and spectacular new horror-comedy from Jordan Peele, right from its ineffably creepy opening."
Peter Bradshaw (11 Mar 2019, )
Total Film
4 stars out of 5 -- "[I]t’s a twisted funhouse blast on top and detailed enough below to reward revisits..."
Kevin Harley (17 Mar 2019, )
USA Today
"With Peele’s thoughtfully freaky new horror film US, the Oscar-winning wunderkind proves the masterful scares of his debut GET OUT were no fluke but instead harbingers of wicked things to come."
Brian Truitt (18 Mar 2019, )
Variety
"[T]errifying....[The film] comes loaded with nightmare-inducing images of tunnel-dwelling döppelgangers who’ve come to claim the privileged lives their aboveground counterparts have been enjoying all this time."
Peter Debruge (8 Mar 2019, )
