Guitar Hero® Live is here. FreeStyleGames have reinvented the legendary Guitar Hero franchise, with two innovative new gameplay modes and an all-new guitar controller.

GH Live mode puts you onstage, looking out: you get a heart-stopping first-person perspective as a real crowd reacts to the notes you play. Or switch over to GHTV – a playable music video network, where you can play along in real time, discover new music, and challenge friends around the world.

YOU are the rock star
Playing music in front of a real crowd is like no other experience. With the new GH Live first-person view, YOU’LL take center stage like never before.

Rock real crowds with real reactions
Feel the rush of performing in a REAL band, in front of REAL crowds who react in REAL time to your performance. You’ll either win the crowd or lose them. Plus, your band mates will also let you know if you’re rocking out or need to pick it up. Fight the stage fright and bring down the house.

Awesome music, epic venues
In GH Live, you’ll take the stage in a variety of venues. Experience it all from the intimacy of a small club or the main stage of a massive outdoor festival.

Worth it

The change in the controller brings a new depth to the already great franchise. Good song choice.

The new live feature gets kinda weird. It does fit with the aesthetic they were trying to bring but i miss the days of the crazy trippy light shows and feeling like you are in a battle with the rock gods playing some kick ass songs.

Infinite musics, better grip, amazingly fun! Even if you are not a fan of Guitar Hero but you are a music fan, this is the game. Go for it!

What's not to love!

I have spent hours upon hours of ignoring the carpal tunnel pain in my hands.
It's just so difficult to put down that plastic guitar.
If you loved the older Guitar Hero's, there's no reason why you wouldn't love this one either.

The "campaign" or Guitar Hero Live part is pretty cool. It really gives you the feel of being a rock star, BUT the songs aren't all that great and in my opinion it needs a few more riff songs. But that's where Guitar Hero TV comes in.

The 2 channels with endless music videos to play are awesome. Sure you can't choose what you want to play, but most of the songs are fun and very challenging. And seeing other players that are either playing now or that did play on the side of the screen, gives it a lovely competitive edge.

As for the new button layout, it's awesome. You get use to it quickly but as soon as you come across a difficult riff, it can be mind bending. As always the Expert difficulty is very very difficult to nail and seems to be pretty realistic.

The new button layout is a fresh change from the previous 'snap your wrist' five button line. Essentially there are so many more note possibilities now but they are in fact easier to do as you don't have to slide your hand all over the place.

Guitar aside, the game is brilliant offline and online. There are great songs to play offline and a decent amount of trophies keeping you occupied as you increase your skill level. The online features are great with different modes to play and even a league in which you fight to get to the top division while leveling your guitar and busting out the ultimate riffs.

My one and only gripe is the streaming videos online. If you do not have an uncapped bundle you will lose 2 gigs for an hour of game play online. I have a 100g contract and only since Guitar Hero Live do I run out before the end of the month.

Otherwise, hours of fun and great music! BUY IT!
