Customer Reviews

I gave this game some time off.

When No Man's Sky first came out, I thought the concept was amazing. I started playing, (when it first came out) I was left a bit 50/50 about wanting to play on and finish the game. It became rather boring and later sold my copy.

With the updates that came out last year, I decided to give No Man's Sky another chance. And wow! What a difference! I played non-stop for days. What a turn around of a game.

I recommend this game for the gamers who enjoy taking their time and exploring. There is so much to explore, you need 100 lifetimes to do everything. It's really fun and who doesn't like flying in a spaceship in space shooting down badguys for bounties?

One of the best 'from worst to good' turnaround games.

Something different

I have never played something like this. Endless planets to explore and new creatures to encounter.!

My Grandfather smoked his whole life.

I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this game gave me cancer anyway.

Dissapointing

Went into the game after Sean Murray promised freighter ships and the ability to build bases, to date I have yet to see anything. Left the game after 2 weeks and haven't returned as it is the same thing over and over and over.

Just not great

I was one of those who even tried to remain hopeful after launch. It doesn't look as good as they made it out to be, it doesn't play well and it in no way offers diversity.

Super fun lonely exploration game :)

This game got a lot of hate from people, but I think a lot of it is misplaced - they delivered on what they promised - a lonely exploration game where you are alone in the universe exploring the vast vast recesses of space and discovering untouched planets and getting to name solar systems, planets, strange and wonderful animals and plants - each completely new and interesting :)

If you enjoy playing alone and mining for materials, going exploring and discovering interesting flora and fauna and traversing an ocean of stars -- this game is for you :)

Personally I really really enjoy it :)

Not amazing

The idea is good and the planets are pretty though the actual game part of it is very lacking. Not much to do, if you are someone that likes completely open-ended exploration and gameplay with no real need to follow a story then you may really love it.

Could have been a much better game, the planet generation is pretty amazing and worth playing for though other than that no real quests or anything like that.

It's about time

The game from what I have experienced is alright. I say alright because I followed this game since it was announced and I was so hyped but after it released it did not meet my expectations. Therefore I guess at this moment in time you should wait to buy this game. Besides FFXV, Persona 5 , The Last Guardian and the new tomb raider is releasing on ps4 soon. Just wait for those and before you know it this game will be on sale for 40% less the list price.

Ignore The Critics

This game is so off-beat, I love it. Intergalactic space travel and discoveries, space fights with other ships, trading, meeting aliens, learning new alien languages in order to talk to said aliens, mining resources, jet packs, huge planets, freaky and cute creatures and plants, strange statues... Anybody who says the game gets repetitive after 3 hours is dead wrong. It's perfect for those who want an exploration and survival game with a "chilled" vibe.
