This game 'shoots' other FPS games hands down...

Reviewed by on

Used to love that other FPS games series (you know which titles I am referring to!), but tried this one out for a change. Yes it broke my gaming bank a little but it was worth it! If you dont own this title you might as well stick to playing games on your mobile phone. Graphics and gameplay is awesome. Single player campaign mode is a bit short, but the real action is via multiplayer. Nevertheless, its a must-have for your collection.

There's a reason why this is one of the most talked about FPS out there!

Simple put: It's brilliant! In my opinion it was only ever gonna be between this title and OW for the FPS GOTY for 2016. Every other shooter that came along only ever deserved to lick the boot of this game.
The SP campaign is short (roughly 6hrs) , sweet and functional and really sets the tone for the MP scene. That's where this gem shines brightest. This game will easily give you 500+hrs of fun so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth and then some. Now that local server support is here the game runs smoother than ever.

My breakdown of this game per category:
Graphics: 9.5/10
Sound: 9/10
Gameplay/fun factor: 9.5/10
Story of SP: 8/10
The best Battlefield game thus far!

See you on the Battlefield!

The Next Generation of Gaming.

Reviewed by on

Next generation of gaming, we've finally arrived. Battlefield 1 definitely earns its title as the successor to Battlefield 4 and Hardline. While the concept of the next big Battlefield title taking place during World War 1 may leave one wondering about how sophisticated and fun it is actually going to be due to the nature and atmosphere of the time in which it took place, Battlefield 1 managed to surprise me and exceed all of my expectations.

MULTIPLAYER GAMEPLAY –“A typical yet unrivalled online EA experience”
As any regular Battlefield gamer will know, EA offers their Battlefield players the indulgence of enormous maps, a vast array of weapons and vehicles, an extensive line-up of gameplay modes and massive all out warfare. This does not change in Battlefield 1. The game's multiplayer mode boasts 9 grand and colossal sized maps to sink your teeth into; all equipped with some old-school yet quite fun vehicles and planes. The original Battlefield game modes such as Conquest, Rush, Domination and Team Death match will be enough to keep you busy, but if not, EA decided to spoil players by providing a new ‘Capture the Pigeon’ game mode (actually quite fun) and something totally new called ‘Operations’, which kind of combines the multiplayer and campaign experiences together. While the 9 maps are excellently constructed with the perfect historical and chronicle atmosphere, some parts of most of the maps unfortunately provide a rather somber and gloomy ambience. Lying down in the muddy trenches while the ashes your comrades' corpses feast around you is just one example. Did I say ashes? Yes, one thing EA decided to improve and throw in is the random availability of the most awesome kits and gear throughout the maps during match time. (One of these kits being the serenity and FLAMETROOPER kit, which makes you feel absolutely unbeatable and invincible).

CAMPAIGN
Battlefield has always been known to have short and mediocre campaigns, that usually would have to be force-fed to me with the incentive of unlocking achievements or battlepacks; but this is no longer the case. With a collection of different war stories, each one providing an exciting and compelling plot, I found myself to be spending a good couple of hours indulging in the campaign before actually yielding the thrilling adventure that awaited me in the multiplayer. While the campaign is absolutely electrifying, the stories represent some of the most gruesome and tragic true events that took place during World War 1. So if you're an absolute softy I’d recommend having some tissues by your side while exploring the stories of some of the war's greatest heroes.

GRAPHICS
Let’s talk graphics. I mentioned already that we've finally arrived at the next generation of gaming; and I meant it! For the first time since acquiring my Playstation 4, I have been overwhelmed by the remarkable and high-calibre graphical display that has been provided by Battlefield 1. Battlefield 1's excellent sound effects and interesting soundtrack compliment this, by providing the perfectly all-rounded next generation video game.

CONCLUSION
The game is honoured with the title of not only being the best in the Battlefield series, but also one of the best First-Person shooter games of its time.
The game's price tag is justified by its broad amount of content and features, demonstrated in both its campaign and multiplayer game modes, providing a copious amount of hours of pure amusement and jubilance.
