A remaster done well

This game has been given a face-lift and it's been done well. It really does take you back! :)

Nostalgic!

What an awesome game, and 3 in 1, great value for money!
I don't remember it being so difficult, some levels are super frustrating but still loads of fun and brings back memories of playing it on PS1 so many years ago. I feel like it was way more fun playing it back then but it's still worth playing it over in its remastered form. The graphics are great and it's such a bonus being able to play this in handheld mode! Definitely recommend to all Switch owners.

New Bandicoot fan!

First time playing a Crash Bandicoot title, really enjoying his charming animations and funky worlds he inhabits. Reminds me a lot of the Donkey Kong Country games. Great remaster so far, sans fur for our titular hero. Vicarious Visions know how to infuse simple platforming with charm and personality, think they were a good choice to handle the remaster. Plus three games for a low price on Switch! What's not to like?!?

Classic with a NEW look

Best version of crash

This is by far the best version of the crash trilogy , good visuals and mechanics, plus handheld mode is a bonus

Party like it's '99

Before a game's value was measured by its length or its volume of content, the focus was on the moment-to-moment fun to be had, delivered in the simplest way possible. Granted this was more a caveat of hardware limitations than artistic licence, but the appeal was undeniable. Enter Crash, an anthropomorphic bandicoot on a quest across 3 titles that develops from saving his girlfriend to saving the planet (side note: is Crash Bandicoot Austin Powers?).

The mechanics are simple, one button jumps, another twirls and movement is either backwards, forwards or side-to-side. Players control Crash using these mechanics through platforming obstacles of varying (increasing) difficulty through a range of landscapes (and time itself), with the occasional level where Crash (or his sister Coco) pilot an animal, motorbike and even a jet-ski. Be warned, this game is a stark reminder of how difficult platformers used to be, with pinpoint control and lightning reactions required to complete certain levels (here's looking at you Native Fortress) - this can lead to moments of frustration book-ended by euphoria when one overcomes a particularly challenging section.

This is the same game released last year on the PS4, albeit with slightly lower graphical fidelity (not explicitly noticeable) with the upside being notably shorter load times. All three games are included in the package, and the job done by Vicarious Visions on the rework are amazing - visuals are stunning and audio is a delight. The gameplay mechanics are left in tact, albeit the physics engine from the third game have been leveraged throughout, leading to some people finding the first game harder than they remember. As a first time player, I didn't notice this. Certain quality-of-life improvements have also been made, such as the ability to retry bonus levels and a greater scattering of checkpoints.

Overall this game is a wonderful addition to the Switch and one which every owner, young or old, can benefit from, for the sheer joy of the content itself and the simple mechanics which are easy to grasp but hard to master.

Highly recommended.

A true remaster

This is an accurate remaster of the original crash bandicoot games and that means it's still as difficult and at often times frustrating, that isn't a bad thing but not always a good thing for people looking to complete it 100%

Visually it is stunning and content wise it's all there with a few added stuff like 2 bonus levels, Coco as a playable character (she plays exactly the same as crash, no special abilities) and for the price you get 3 games each
