Description

Days Gone is an open-world action game set in the high-desert of the Pacific Northwest two years after a mysterious global pandemic has decimated the world, killing most but transforming millions into mindless, feral creatures. Survivors live in a world where resources are scarce, violence and murder are common and Freakers roam the wilderness.

Players face this violent, new world as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter, a Drifter who lives in the lawless wilderness outside the civilian encampments. Deacon survives by using skills learned before the world ended, riding for the Mongrels MC, an outlawed motorcycle club, where violence and mayhem were part of the riding the open road.

At the center of it all, Days Gone is an exploration of how any of us would react to these harsh conditions, and exploration of loss, love, friendship, revenge and desperation - learning that surviving isn't living. For Deacon especially, it's a struggle to ensure that hope never dies.

Features:

  • Expansive Open World Action - Exemplifying truly free-form gameplay, Days Gone offers freedom to explore, strategize and play "your way" in the vast high-desert of the Pacific Northwest. The hazardous environments, filled with carved out ridges, mountains, caves, cliffs mines and river basins, deliver a breathtaking backdrop to an equally diverse style of gameplay.
  • Emergent Gameplay - Featuring fully explorable environments and dynamic AI enemies, players will rely on their own abilities to strategize, craft weapons and tools, explore the world, and engage in combat. With almost every car, building and environment searchable, Days Gone delivers emergent gameplay possibilities, making a player's approach to combat and discovery a vital part of the experience.
  • Stunning, Dynamic Graphics - Using the power of PlayStation 4 and Unreal Engine 4, Bend Studio has developed a high volume of rendering and gameplay technology to deliver an incredibly realistic open world experience. Realistic weather effects, such as rain, wind, snow and day-night cycles impact the gameplay. The game's lighting is all real-time and reacts dynamically, the way the human iris does, as players move from one location to the next.

Another solid exclusive

Reviewed by on

Sony has had a great run with their exclusives.

While Days Gone doesn't reach the lofty heights set by the likes of God Of Way or Spider-Man it is an enjoyable post-apocalyptic adventure. The voice and mo-cap acting are top notch. However, the gameplay can come off as a bit bland.

All-in-all this is an excellent addition to any PS4 library.

Amazing game really worth it... I've been playing it for hours

Fun game, but a bit repetitive

Generally gameplay is great, big open world experience. The sidequests are a bit repetitive after a while. The story is written well and it's quite a lengthy game. Worth the price.
4/5 would recommend.

Well Worth the Wait

It feels like forever since this game was first announced, and it was well worth the wait. It's an incredibly immersive combination of The Last of Us and Far Cry, with an open world that is expansive without being overwhelming. The missions are vast and varied, but you never get the impression that there is 'too much to do'. Everything from the characters to the music, the environments to the enemies makes this an incredible game and here's hoping it walks away as 2019's Game of the Year. I pre-ordered the standard game long before I knew there would be a Special Edition, which I then got later, even if just for the awesome package with artbook and extra DLC. No regrets whatsoever!

Fantastic game

Days Gone manages to balance multiple elements to create an experience that will be enjoyable to a wide audience; whether you're a fan of zombies, survival games, open world games or simply enjoy narratives.
The special edition comes with an awesome looking steelbook, soundtrack on CD and an art book by Dark Horse Comics.

Epic game

Days gone is a brilliant open world game with stunning visuals, gameplay and story. The graphics on the PlayStation Pro is just amazing. If you love playing games on PlayStation then Days Gone is must have. The packaging was detailed and neatly done.

Great package.

Love the world- No glitches experienced so far. Playing it on a PS4 slim and love playing it on my pace. Do not take on the hordes head on- Things will quickly turn sour. This is a mix between Far Cry and The Last Of Us- Not flawless, but a damn good experience!!!!

This is a worthy addition to add to your Collection.

Quality product and game

This is a very beautifully made Special Addition. The steel-case has a nice embossed feel to it. I haven't read the accompanied artwork book yet because it is clearly stated on the front that spoilers like the hordes abound inside :-) To boot it has a soundtrack CD and the early access DLC's are just awesome. The the game itself: man I love that world already, so detailed and lush, the dynamic weather systems is realistic(why always the fn rain ;-) ) . Choosing how you want to play: stealthy(fancy way for me to say scaredy cat way) or head-on(not advised with hordes). The story so far is good. I hope to explore every m^2 of this open world. Well done Bend Studio
