A Great Addition to the Mini Retro Consoles

Reviewed by on

Personally I was never as much a fan of the Mega Drive / Genesis as opposed to the Master System. Solely due to the games released for each console however it is hard to argue any fact when it comes to this release.

Originally AT Games launched a mini Mega Drive with around 60-80 games pre-loaded onto their device with the added option of using original cartridges on the machine. Despite the idea being good, the quality of the product was far less appealing. Controller buttons were hard and the product lacked true authentication. Even frame rate emulation was off and did not display accurately.

But this has now changed. Sega themselves were responsible for the release of this current console and it is very clear that their meticulous attention to quality were present with an original and high standard.

Some have argued of the 3 button controller although this was the first controller released for the console. There are 6 button controllers available should you need one but these are sold through other dealers. In my opinion, the controllers are not short at all and i could quite comfortably play the console in my rather large living room. The Nintendo mini on the other hand had extremely short controllers

The game menu is crisp and easy to use offering information on each title available and as for the games selection, it is 42 of some of the best titles ever made. The frame rate is also in line with most modern TV's.

.Its really a good release and I take my proverbial hat off to Sega for their efforts. Two thumbs up!

Epic !

Interface is nice and clean , easy to use and super fun to play.

NOTE** Controller chords are too short if you are going to play in a living room , but you can get USB extension chords and your sorted !

Very happy customer !
