An honest PS5 review

Reviewed byThe looks:
The PS5 console itself is a chonky piece of hardware, an absolute unit. The largest console I have ever owned. This device will stand out in most living rooms. Sony was obviously going for a bold statement here. I also feel that form follow function here as the curved "wings" prevent the air intakes from getting blocked. Just be prepared to have space available for this console. The device is also very quiet compared to the PS4 Pro.
The controller:
This is the best Sony controller to date. It is slightly larger than the PS4 DualShock and slightly heavier. It also has haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that, while not transformative to the gaming experience, adds some great tactile feedback to games that support it. Also, USB-C FINALLY!
The UI:
This can be summed up in one word. Elegant. There will be improvements as the patches roll out, but the UI and UX is perfectly functional at launch.
The games:
While there are not many games that are really 100% exclusive to the console yet, the Spider-Man games running the PS5 versions are fluid at 60FPS but you can only have Ray-Tracing enabled at the 30FPS mode. I think we will in time see some amazing 1st part Sony games just like we did for the last generation. But for now, if you missed out on the launch drops of the consoles, you are not really missing out. So there is really no need to be leaving rude reviews for Raru like some of the guys below this.
All in all, this is a true "next-gen" console that is a must get within the next 6 months to a year due to the "skinny" launch line up of games. The controller is a big improvement and the looks of the device itself are striking. I see this console hitting its stride with a few more next-gen exclusives landing next year.

When can we expect the second batch of preorders to be shipped and delivered?
Willem G on
Reviewed byHowever, my order history suggests that the unit may only ship on 31 December; when will you be able to provide some clarity?
Raru Admin Note:
The 31 Dec. is a place holder date. The hope is that the stock will come in before then, but if there are delays we will let customers know.
So excited

Second Allocation

Reviewed byRaru Admin Note: The second drop pre-order allocation sold out in about a minute due to overwhelming demand. The next drop is expected early 2021. We will advise once we get more info regarding when those pre-orders can go live again.
At this point, I think it's safe to assume there will not be a second allocation before release
